Bentheim ladies

Not just for women! Our guide will tell you during this walk about women who were important in the history of Bentheim. We take a closer look at Countess Anna of Tecklenburg, who ruled alone  over the county of Bentheim for twelve years in the 16th century. And the sturdy Dutch Geertruida van Zelst, who began as a maid and ended as a countess. And Countess Pauline, sister of the Dutch queen Emma, who was responsible for the reconstruction of the castle in the early 20th century.
